In short
- The cookies the site needs are always on. They remember your choice and keep forms and sign-in working.
- Analytics cookies help us see which pages help and what to improve. They are set only if you say yes, and never used for ads.
- You can change your choice any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
Cookies we always use
These keep the site working, so they don't need your consent.
| Name | Type | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| aiscovery_consent | Cookie | Remembers your cookie choice, so we don't ask on every page. | 6 months |
| NEXT_LOCALE | Cookie | Remembers the site language. Rarely set, because the site is in English only. | Until you close your browser |
| aiscovery.free-check.<check id> | Browser storage | Only if you run a free check: lets you add the result to your workspace later. | 7 days |
| __Secure-better-auth.session_token | Cookie, dashboard only | Keeps you signed in. It holds no password, and page scripts can't read it. | 7 days, renewed while you use the dashboard |
The dashboard also keeps a few settings in your browser's storage, such as your theme and language. They stay on your device.
Analytics cookies, only if you say yes
If you say yes, our analytics providers show us how people find and use our pages, so we can fix what confuses them. They never get what you type into our forms, and nothing is used for ads.
If you say no, or don't answer, the analytics tools don't load at all.
| Name | Type | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Cookie, analytics provider | Counts you once across visits, with a random ID. | 13 months |
| _ga_<id> | Cookie, analytics provider | Keeps track of your current visit. | 13 months |
| _clck | Cookie, analytics provider | Tells repeat visits apart, with a random ID. | 1 year |
| _clsk | Cookie, analytics provider | Joins the pages of one visit together. | 1 day |
| _cltk | Browser storage, analytics provider | A short random value for the current tab. | Until you close the tab |
Our analytics providers are based in the United States and receive your IP address, browser and device details and the pages you visit. Our Sub-processors page lists them.
Change your choice
Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page, or the button below. If you change a yes to a no, we delete the analytics cookies on our domain.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a no. We ask again after 6 months. We don't sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website works the same without them; only signing in to the dashboard needs its cookie.
Other sites
When you pay, you go to our payment provider's checkout page, which uses its own cookies there. The bot check on our forms doesn't set cookies.
